Michael Kain, Donald Willier III

The direct anterior approach (DAA), continues to see increased utilization for total hip arthroplasty procedures. There are multiple variations on how to perform this surgical approach for arthroplasty procedures. This video will demonstrate the technique of a cementless hemiarthroplasty placed through a supine, direct anterior approach with the use of a fracture table. The surgical anatomy and key maneuvers will be demonstrated in this video. The video is filmed from the surgeons view and will also demonstrate a method for closing the capsule after the prothesis is placed.
