Demonstration of the techniques for raising and rotating a distally based peroneus brevis flap. This flap is useful for covering small to medium sized defects of the distal leg, ankle, and hindfoot. Knowledge of the vascular anatomy is required and is demonstrated herein. This flap does not require microvascular specialization and can be performed by orthopedic surgeons as well as plastic surgeons to manage wounds that may otherwise have required free tissue transfer.
