This video on the Ilioinguinal Approach (II) presents its indications and technique for the operative treatment of acetabular fractures. The principle of the II is to work through three different windows. The II approach is indicated in all acetabular fracture types where in addition to the anterior column fracture a fractured posterior column is reducible through the second window and when there is no posterior column or wall involvement that would necessitate a direct posterior approach. This cadaver video describes how to develop the three windows of the II and how to reduce and stabilize the appropriate acetabular fractures.
