This video presents a case of a comminuted fibula fracture with impressive soft tissue damage, requiring open reduction and internal fixation with a limited incision. Anatomic reduction and stable fixation was obtained with this surgery.Surgical fixation of a fibula fracture with significant soft tissue injury can be performed with intramedullary nails. This technique can limit post-operative infection while adequately reducing the ankle joint in proper alignment to prevent posttraumatic arthritis.
